Cockroaches:

German, Oriental, Brown-Banded and American are a few types of roaches that can be found in and around your home.

German Roaches are light brown or tan, they have two black stripes behind there head that run horizontally. The young roaches are black and much darker. Adult roaches do have wings but they rarely ever fly.
They can be found in electronics, furniture, kitchen appliances and other items that are warm, cabinets, and under sinks. Areas in where food is left out, behind microwaves, refrigerators and dishwashers.

Oriental Roaches are shiny black or a dark reddish brown color. There wings are on ¾ of the length of there body and leave a few segments exposed at the end (but cannot fly). Female oriental roaches do not have wings, but only wing pads.
They prefer homes that have damp, dark or any areas with shelter that they can breed and develop. They can travel through sewers can come inside through any pipes or drains that lead into the home. They will eat anything, including decaying organic matter. They come out during the summer months around landscaping, gutters, leafs, drains. They can survive up to a month without food, but only 2 weeks without water.
