Spiders – Most spiders found in central Texas are not dangerous to people, the most common venomous spiders are the brown recluse and the black widow spider.
Brown Recluse has a violin shaped mark on its thorax.
Black Widow has a red hour glass shape on the bottom of its thorax.
Most spiders are found in dark areas, crawl spaces, baseboards, ceilings or under cabinets. They feed on insects and other spiders. They can move indoors while searching for food, warmth or moisture.
